CASA BLANCA - PLAYA BLANCA

Casa Blanca

Casa Blanca has earned a reputation as one of the finest salt water fly fishing lodges in the Caribbean.  It is located on the southern edge of Ascension Bay on a beautiful point jutting out into the Caribbean.  Bonefish and permit are the primary targets, but tarpon, snook, barracuda and the whole array of salt water fish are present.

Fishing is done from Dolphin skiffs with experienced guides.  Accommodations are comfortable and spacious and all located on the beach with the Caribbean knocking on your door.  Meals are a treat with an imaginative menu that includes as a specialty varieties of fresh seafood.

The price includes a charter flight down the coast from Cancun to the lodges private air strip.  Rates vary with the season, but are in the $3,000 – 3,500 range.

 Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca is located a few miles down the beach from Casa Blanca.  The fishery is similar with a focus on Espiritu Santo Bay and the many mangrove lagoons located in the area.  What sets Playa Blanca apart is that it also has an array of activities available that make it much more than a fishing lodge – a “fishing/adventure” lodge would be more appropriate.

It’s beautiful beach hosts many water activities from snorkeling to water kayaking.  There are the ruins of a Mayan town that have been restored and are with a few hundred yards of the lodge.  Both guided and unguided activities can fill the day of the non-fisherman – or there is always doing nothing at all while you lay in your hammock and watch the waves roll in.

Rates include both a fishing package and the adventure program rate and are similar to Casa Blanca’s prices.
